Jonathan Livingston Seagull - a story

"Jonathan Livingston Seagull - a story" by Richard Bach. Jonathan is a different seagull. And because of that he is banished from his flock and everybody wonder what is wrong with him.
"There is more to life than eating, or fighting, or power in the flock...Our purpose of living is to find that perfection."

For Jonathan learn how to fly is more important than eat and the flock. He wants to fly and improve it, do his best. He even goes do another world with another seagulls like him so he can learn more. And than he come back to his original world to teach what he had learned to his flock.
He finds out that the purpose of life is find the perfection. To find that perfection we have to learn. Learning takes time and patient, the mistakes are part of the process.
I think bringing that to our life is hard. What the book says is more important learn to live a full life. Enjoy your life stead of doing what you are supposed to or what is "normal". At the same time you have to be kind enough to share what you had learned, in this way make everybody around you have a happy life. In the process of teaching and learning you'll find what is good in everybody around you.

"Like everything else, Fletcher. Practice." By morning the Flock had

forgotten its insanity, but Fletcher had not. "Jonathan, remember what you
said a long time ago, about loving the Flock enough to return to it and
help it learn?"
"a hunger for learning  that grew every lesson..."

"Oh, Fletch, you don't love that! You don't love hatred and evil, of
course. You have to practice and see the real gull, the good in every one
of them, and to help them see it in themselves. That's what I mean by
love. It's fun, when you get the knack of it."
" He spoke of very simple things - that it is right for a guil to fly,

that freedom is the very nature of his being, that whatever stands against
that freedom must be set aside, be it ritual or superstition or limitation
in any form."

Friends

Part of your life is lived with people that make it fun and easier. Little things bring people together. Even people that are so different can be friends and get along. Having friends bring happiness Friends can come and go, a friendship can start in a trip, in a bus, because of other friend or even because of a fight...They can be in your life for years or for just a few hours but all and each of them leave a piece in your heart and memory. You can share moments of happiness or sadness with friends. Some of them leave your life and what you get back is nothing good but you still miss the good moments.
I’ve seen friendships ending because of silly things. An argument, a lie, or just because people can do mean things and hurt each other. During your life friends will come and go. Some are loyal some other not much. Trust is something that comes with time and suspicion is like a bad seed in the right place can make lots of damage.
In the end what really matter are the moments you spend with all your friends .How it end is nothing. And you never know what will happen in the future. You may come to be with them again… You can just forget about how it ended and talk about the fun you have together.
I read a long time ago a message about friends that said there two kinds of friends: the comets and the stars. The comets are the ones that come and go and the stars are the ones that stay long or leave marks on your life. At that time I tried to figure it out my friends who were comets and who were stars but now I feel like all friends are comets and in some ways they are stars too. Because all of them leave memories and pieces of themselves in you.
What I really want to do now is thank for all my friends. And I mean all of them: Romina (I didn’t forget about you), Paulo, Rafael, Dani, Luana, Rebeca, Adriana, Janmara, Livia, Erika, Estevan, Derik, Luana, Thales, Mario, Thiago, Zeno, Katia, Josias, Julio, Camila, Dani, Gabriel, Raquel, Simone, Paula, Claudineia, Patricia, Simone, Raquel, Gi, Andreia, Luciana, Odair, Rafa, João, Fabio, Nilson, Ricardo, Roger, Danilo, Cleber, Tiago,  Yuri N, Yuri P., Bruno (mala), Naamã, Sergio, Almir,Eduardo, Ronaldo, Leandro, Ariane, Bete, Karla, Ivanise, Miriam, Renata, Thiago F. Saudade

Do you know when you are away from your family, friends or anyone you love. That feeling of emptiness, loneliness... In English is used miss. You say I'm missing you... But I don't know if there is another word to describe the feeling (in English). In Portuguese we have a special word for that feeling it is SAUDADES.
We have songs about it, poetry... People say the Portuguese is the only language that has that. Yes, a word for the feeling. Think about your first best friend. You met him/her in school or in your old neighborhood. You were impossible together and after a few years spend all the time you had with each other now... You don't even know where he/she is... I miss that, I miss my first best friend. This nostalgic feeling is SAUDADES.
Once looking up online I got to whole discussion that you have similars words in English for it, but as always when you translate anything it looses a little bit the meaning behind it.  And the best way I found out to describe it was:
Saudade was once described as "the love that remains" or "the love that stays" after someone is gone.
As song by a brazilian singer says: "To com sintomas de Saudades:"
                                                           I got symptoms of Saudades

People

Sometimes I dont understand what people do with their life I don't get why people are selfish and manipulative. I've been seeing people suffer because of this kind of person. It's sad watch others suffer because of that. Life is hard enough with the problems with have to deal with. Now when you have someone in your life that makes it even harder... it's awful!!
I don't know how to deal with it. The thing I do know I can do is pray and wish to things change to the best for everybody even the one that is causing so much pain...
People be GOOD!!!!

Establishing ties

"To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world . . ."  - From The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

The fox teachs the boy how to make friends and keep them. He says later on that they have to establish a time that the boy will come so the fox will know when he is coming and be ready for his visit. The fox put in a simple way how a relationship is build. And how you keep it.
This book is supposed to be a kid book but I believe it has the important things in life that we as adults forget about all the time... I remember I was told when I was younger this is a book to be read once in a while because every time it will look different.
For me this is a true every time I need to think or just make a decision this is the book that helps me.
And for all the adults, remember (I'm included in this):

"Men have forgotten this truth," said the fox. "But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose . . . "
"I am responsible for my rose," the little prince repeated, so that he would be sure to remember.

What happen to her?

Monica and Cebolinha were a perfect couple. They were friends in the childhood. They started dating on high school and went to college as fiancé
In their last year in college Monica began to change. Earlier that year she would say to him, she wasn’t feeling good and then she had a test or something to do in the library after a little while, she told him she still loving him but she had met somebody else who changed her.
It was Leonardo. She met him in a class. He is smart, sweet and romantic. They’ve been hanging out since them. But she realized she is in love.
Then they started dating and when the year was over, they decided to go in an around world trip. So they can spend more time together.

PS: just a short story I wrote a while ago! :-)

Plans

You know when you have ideas what you are planning to do? During your vacation or even next weekend? Funny thing is you make plans and get ready for all that... No matter what. And then something happens. You can't do it anymore. I think about how I had so many plans and now I don't know what's gonna happen. My plans are changing by the day.
People will say you need plans but today I kept thinking why? Things happen all the time and all you had planed it's set up to fail. Some people may call it fate. I don't know if that's the case but I do believe in fate.
I would like to know where my fate is taking me.
I know what I want, but am I gonna get that? I wonder how you know what to do and specially how to make the right choice...

Why Whatever?

Just because I'm going to write about whatever is in my mind. I can tell most of the time it will be about what I'm watching, reading or thinking.
If you are wondering why a Brazilian girl is starting a blog in English. It's because I lived in the US for 2 almost 2 years and I always liked writing and that's the way I found to keep writing in English.
After all my writing classes, I decided I would start this blog (thanks Mary and Susan).
Hope hear from you ...
